About Me

Who am I?

My name is Khadis, an Indonesian, a blogger, a freelance writer, a newbie in translation business, a computer trainer, and a husband of a pretty girl with one pretty daughter! English and writing are my passion since I was in junior high school. But I started to write a post in this blog just a couple of years ago, mainly to encounter my needs of practicing English and as a “note collection” to remind myself about every English words I have learned.

My activities

I cannot make money by updating this blog every month, so I do so many things for living. So, besides having a small stationery shop at home, I run a computer course. Sometimes, I take translation and or subtitling jobs (both paid and voluntary), and sometimes I write for magazines or tabloids. In the past, my writings (short stories and poems) were published in some tabloids for teenager such as Tren, MOP, and Lensa. In 2010 until 2012, I took a part in English Forum rubric in Radar Banyumas—a local newspaper—as a contributor. May 2012 until May 2013, I wrote software reviews for PCplus magazine.

How to collaborate with me

Although I have a small shop at home, I do not open any business partnership here. But, for running and keeping the existence of this blog, I do need some helps from good people like you. But please note that because this blog is not made for something that “produce” money, giving me a help will never make you rich or popular. May God repay your kindness.

So, if you are interested to make a good collaboration with me, let’s start it!

Before publish an article, I often post a draft, which I like to share and ask for some comments from my readers, especially from my closest friends. They love to give me some inputs, and I believe that you would love it too. Now, I will give you a chance to take a part in “building” better educative contents for this blog.

The easiest way to contribute to this blog is by “correcting” and or improving my draft. You can participate in correcting my grammar and diction, add more description and paragraphs, or even restructuring my whole draft.

Besides put my drafts in draft section in my blog, I often upload the raw materials in cloud storages such Dropbox and Norton Zone. Usually, I create a downloadable draft in Microsoft Word or OpenOffice/LibreOffice format so that you can make changes to improve my draft. Once you download the draft(s), please follow the instructions below to ensure that I can track any changes you made:

  1. Open up your desired draft with your Microsoft Word or OpenOffice/LibreOffice. If you are using Microsoft Word, go to the Review menu. Click on Track Changes and start make corrections. Any changes such as new words added, deletion, additional punctuation, etc. will be highlighted in red color. Just ignore the highlights, because it will help me to track changes you made.
  2. If you are using OpenOffice/LibreOffice, go to Edit – Changes – Record and start make corrections. Any changes such as new words added, deletion, additional punctuation, etc. will (sometimes) be highlighted in orange or brown color. Just ignore the highlights, because it will help me to track changes you made.
  3. After you finish it, you can send the article back to me: refinemyself [at] gmail [dot] com. Of course, later, I will re-check the document to ensure that you made appropriate correction.

If you want to ask me something, let me know it.
